This is an annual crafting retreat to raise money for the non-profit organization, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in hopes that one day soon CF will stand for Cure Found!

 

The following details will introduce you to our retreat and why we do what we do. Scrapping for a Cure events are a little different from your typical retreats. ALL proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. ALL workers are volunteers who donate their time, money, and energy to the success of these events. The success of the event also rests with our amazing sponsors. We rely heavily on donations for our event supplies, door prizes, auction items, and participant gifts. Ultimately the success of our fundraising is because of our generous participants. We have raised over $80,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation over the past 12 years because of the dedication and generosity of everyone that supports our events.

Scrapping for a Cure's Mission is to create HOPE for those with Cystic Fibrosis through Creative Memory Keeping. All of our proceeds go directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help to develop new medical treatments and to find a cure for CF.

2025 Memphis SFAC - Information

DATES & TIMES

47+ hours of crafting time!  The cropping area will be locked overnight

so participants are welcome to leave crafting supplies at their table. 

  • Thu, April 24, 2025     2pm - *10pm+ 

  • Fri, April 25, 2025       8am - *10pm+

  • Sat, April 26, 2025      8am - *10pm+

  • Sun, April 27, 2025     8am - 7pm

* Daily hours may be extended later with hotel permission.  We are working on this.

 

REGISTRATION: (Link at bottom of page)

  • 6 feet of crafting space - rectangular table: $225

Guess what?  We now are offering a payment plan of 3 payments at $78!!

This year we are trying something new.  You can ask friends and family to SPONSOR your retreat registration. This sponsorship must be monetary and it must be submitted with the balance of your registration. If you collect $225 or more in Sponsor donations, your registration is FREE!! Your Sponsorship Form can be downloaded here.

Seating is limited, so we recommend you register as soon as you know you will be able

to attend. Your seat is not reserved until we have received a registration form and the registration fee.

Registration forms and payment options can be found at the bottom of this page. If you need to

cancel after registering, please refer to our cancellation policy to cover these details. If you have

a large group that wants to sit near each other, please let us know and we will try our best. As

the retreat fills up, we may not be able to accommodate all group requests. If this is the case,

we will let the group know (group contact person) ahead of time.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICING     

  •  6 feet of Crafting space (rectangular table)

  • 47+ hrs of crafting!! (4 full days of fun)

  • Door prizes

  • Raffle                      

  • We will have a Hospitality Room and everyone is encouraged to bring snacks to share 

  • Vendor classes/workshops (for minimal fee payable to respective vendors)

  • Games, Contests, and Prizes​

SEATING

  • If you are crafting with a group, please indicate that on your registration form. We try our hardest to make sure you are all seated together.

  • Electricity is provided. We can't guarantee that the electrical plug will be at your exact table, so please bring a long extension cord and power strip.

  • We also highly recommend bringing additional lighting to make sure you are comfortable during your 47 hrs+ of crafting. 

MEALS/BEVERAGES

  • No meals are provided - the hotel will not allow us to bring in outside meals.

  • There are many options for meals close to the venue.

  • We will have a "snack table" for everyone to bring snack items to share in the Hospitality Room.

  • We will NOT have refrigerator access, so feel free to bring a SMALL cooler for any special dietary requirements you may have.

  • Attendees can eat at the tables in the Hospitality Room.

Memphis, TN - Double Tree by Hilton Sanderlin

· Rate: 2 Queens, $149 + taxes good for any nights of 4/24-27

The quoted room rates will be honored two days before and two days after, space available.

· Last date to reserve a room is 3/28/25 or until full.

DRESS ATTIRE

The dress is casual! Bring options for both cool and warm. Layers are optimal just in case. Although not required: For Friday, we are encouraging costume day to go along with our "Gilligan's Island" theme.

 

VENDORS

The following vendors will be onsite throughout the event for your convenience providing supplies for your projects. Make sure you check with the vendors at the beginning of the crop about payment methods.

Our vendors also provide us with classes and make & takes. They will all be in touch with registered attendees prior to the event. Don’t miss out on the cool projects at each of their booths as well.

 

CLASSES 

Our vendors offer amazing classes each year! Most of these classes do require a small fee. The vendors will contact participants as classes are ready for registration. All class registrations/payments will be handled by the teacher.

GAMES, CONTESTS, AND ACTIVITIES - Join us for a weekend of fun!

  • Games:  We will be playing games at various times throughout the event. All participation is optional.

  • Silent Auction: We will be hosting a Virtual Silent Auction.  In order to earn the maximum  amount of donations for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, we are working hard to figure out how to hold     a LIVE and VIRTUAL Silent Auction.  If you would like to donate something to the silent auction, please contact us at memphis.scrappingforacure@gmail.com. We need to receive all silent auction donations by April 15, 2025.

  • Contests: We will be having a few contests throughout the event. These will include: Table Décor Contest, a Costume Contest, and a Thank You Card Contest.  

    • Table Décor: Participants will have Thursday evening and Friday morning to decorate their table for our annual table décor contest. Friday afternoon we will judge the tables. Table décor needs to incorporate: Scrapping for a Cure, Cystic Fibrosis, and/or the "Gilligan Island" Theme.  You can enter as a group if you wish and decorate all of your tables.

    • Costume Contest will be Friday evening, with judging held shortly after dinner. Costumes can be as simple or elaborate as you desire.

    • Thank You Cards can be made throughout the event (not beforehand), and judging will be held Saturday mid-day. Specific requirements for the cards will be given upon registration. The only requirement for the submitted cards is that they must fit inside a 5x7 envelope. Participants can submit up to two different cards for the contest. After judging, the Thank You cards can be donated to SFAC and will be used to mail out to our sponsors and donors thanking them for their help with our event.

    • What is in the Box - Wrap up a much desired crafting item or an assortment of crafting items into a beautiful present and bring it in so that we can hold an auction to earn money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This was SO much fun last year.  I hope you will participate.

  • Make N Takes/Classes:  Vendors will host classes throughout the event for a small fee, and all class sign ups will be done through the instructor. Project examples and sign ups for these events/projects will be available closer to the event.

  • Raffle: We will have multiple large Grand Prize Raffle items you may want a chance to win. The proceeds from the raffle are donated to CFF (Cystic Fibrosis Foundation) and all of the items are donated by our vendors, volunteers, croppers, and Sponsors. Tickets for the raffle items can be purchased at the event for $2/each, $10/6 tickets, or $20/13 tickets. Tickets can also be acquired by donating snacks (1 ticket), auction items (1 per item), or a monetary donation (1 ticket per $5 donation).
